Panagiotis Xalkiopoulos

He was born in Zakynthos, originally from Patras. He studied law at the Ionian Academy from 1825 to 1828 and then settled in Patras where he practiced law. He then entered the judiciary and was promoted to the rank of Appellate Prosecutor. He was a representative of Gastounis in the National Assembly of the Land from September 1843 to 18/3/1844 and a Member of Parliament for Patras in the 5th Parliament from 27/1/1873 to 26/4/1874. Appointed Minister of Justice in the Government of Rep. Delegate from 25/12/1872 to 9/2/1874. On 22/12/1881 he was sworn in as State Prosecutor General at the Hellenic Court of Audit and held office until January 1886. He died on 23/1/1886.
